Things to do in Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley is not a single town with a centre but a corridor of tech company campuses and visitor sites strung across Mountain View, Palo Alto and Cupertino, about 35-50 minutes south of San Francisco by car or Caltrain.
The Computer History Museum in Mountain View charges roughly $22 for adults, while the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino is free to enter, with timed-entry sometimes required for the rooftop observation deck. Stanford University's campus in Palo Alto is open and free to walk, and the Hoover Tower observation level typically costs a few dollars.
Plan a full day if combining more than two stops, since campuses sit 15-25 minutes apart by car and public transit between them is limited.
